Start of the Infection: The First Signs: Visitors When logging into your world everything seems fine at first, but as soon as you place a bed, otherworldly creatures may visit you during the night. These Visitors are strong hostile mobs who can spread the Nexus and can also spawn other mobs related to the infection. One of these is the Infector, a mob capable of spawning Nexus Tumors. Nexus Tumors rapidly spread the Nexus Infection across large areas, transforming them into hostile microbiomes. When a Tumor appears, it begins corrupting the terrain beneath it, converting the ground into masses of Dead Nexus. While the Tumor is alive, Red Cacti, Nexus Roots, Mind Saplings, and Nexus Meat can naturally form on top of Dead Nexus blocks. Mind Saplings grow into massive Mind Trees after roughly 2 minutes, while Nexus Meat can spawn Wreckeds or Infectors. Infectors spawn new Nexus Tumors, allowing the infection to spread even further. If you're near the infection, a red fog will appear. The infection can overtake some animals, turning them into hostile undead mobs that target other animals and spread the infection across the world.
