Whisper Square Mall Whisper Square Mall is a super-regional 1-level indoor shopping mall, but before Whisper Square Mall it was originally built as 2 malls, Wisp Plaza opened in 1967 with anchors Penneys (then BearHug Co., then Disc Jockey, now Marshalls and Burlington), Woolworths (then Toys R Us/Dick's Sporting Goods, both now closed), Dayton's (now Target), and Sears (then United Artists Theaters, now Regal Cinemas), and Whisp Town Mall opened in 1970 with original anchors Robinson's (then Hecht's, then Macy's, now closed), a new Penneys store (now closed), and Montgomery Ward (then Sears, now closed). In 2000, Mix Malls purchased both malls, combined them into one mall, and renamed the mall to Whisper Square Mall. In 2023, a couple inline stores and the Mix Lounge became a Boscov's, a new Dick's Sporting Goods, and Blaze Pizza respectively. T he mall contains 50+ stores for you guys to explore, but only 4 inline store spaces are empty and only 5 anchor spaces are full.
